In 2013, Peter Mackay’s archive was donated to the University of Stirling. This remarkable collection offers a detailed and meticulously documented account of Mackay's involvement in the nationalist movements in Central and Southern Africa through photography, publications, maps, journalism, personal journals and correspondence with key African and British political figures. The archive also contains records of Mackay's work with the Capital Development Authority in Dodoma, Tanzania, and his humanitarian efforts in Omay.
This project aims to highlight a selection of the extensive resources available in the Mackay Archive and includes a biographical introduction to Mackay's life and work, an interactive map of Freedom Road and access to a variety of Mackay's journals and publications.
